Rakesh Tripathi started his professional music journey with the All India Radio (AIR). His first program of original ghazals and bhajans (written and composed by him) was broadcasted by AIR in 1992. He has written and composed songs sung by legendary singers like Usha Mangeshkar, Sadhna Sargam, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Shanker Mahadevan, Richa Sharma, Amit Kumar, Anup Jalota, Malini Awasthi, Pandit Jayateerth Mevundi and younger generation stars such as Pratibha Singh Baghel, Jazim Sharma, Dev Negi, Aditya Kalway, Sumeet Tappoo, Indian Idol Rishi Singh, Pranjal Bishwas, Sakshi Holkar etc.
