Well past his prime with an early bedtime., Randy Lewis Brown, spends his non-nap time attempting to solve life’s mysteries


“I love stories, good stories, that make me think, that stick with me and even stories that haunt me. I turned 68 years old on my last birthday and I don’t want to waste my time on stories that don’t move me in some way. I want to write songs that tell those kind of stories, ones that hit me in the heart, that take my breath away, that make me nod and say, ‘yep, that is exactly how I feel’. So... here they are in the form of my third solo album, Red Crow. Thirteen songs that get my motor running and excite me every single time I bust em out on stage. These are the songs that I want to hear, that make a difference to me and the songs that folks ask me; ’is that on a record?’. The songs with stories that I keep coming back to, the ones that feel important to me for whatever reason. From my perspective, these are songs about the real stuff, real people and real life. After all, in the end, isn’t that the kind of stories that really count? Lord knows, at my age I don’t have time for anything else.”
