The self-proclaimed "God's Gift to Country Music" and "Reigning King of Spring Break", Omaha, NE-based songwriter/degenerate, Randy Wheeler, has entered the landscape of Country Music with an injection of Punk-Rock attitude and delivers it with the charm and sensability of a long-haul trucker crusing the lot in search of late-night companionship. The "Signature Wheelman Sound" is a sonic amalgamation of Country Music, Blues, Garage Rock, Post-Punk, Stoner Metal, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and Dance Music. He cites his primary influences as: Queens of The Stone Age, Lynyrd Skynrd, Viagra Boys, The Black Keys, Iggy Popp and The Stooges, Father John Misty, and The Black Angels.
Wheeler's approach to songwriting is undeniably abrasive, evident in his colorful vocabulary and offbeat subject matter. He's a true paradox, an anti-hero outlaw who reserves his witty vitriol and mockery for political tyrants and those who stand in opposition to the greater good of society. In the same breath, indecorously slinging arrows at his hometown of Omaha and the horrible drivers coexist with him in traffic, as well as people for not locking the door before using the bathroom. A polarizing man standing firmly in the grey, giving the middle finger to both sides, but still a man with a heart of gold. If you love Country Music, The Wheelman's got something for you. If you hate Country Music, The Wheelman's got something for you.
