“A troublesome addiction” according to OUT Magazine, New York electro-pop Singer-songwriter Raphael releases his debut album “The Dark of My Mind”. Working with top 5 Billboard dance record and gold record producer Barb Morrison (Blondie, Lilly Allen, P!nk) the two were able to create a sound that delivers catchy, breathy pop hooks set to sexy, electronic beats that flirt on the edge of trip-hop.
Whether it’s the inebriated sex haze of the first track “Boys Are Trouble” or the dreamy rap/spoken word “Superstar” Raphael brings a certain depth and soul which the Gay Times U.K. compares to artists Lana Del Rey and the Weeknd.
The Dark of My Mind was mixed by Grammy award winners Tony Maserati (Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Britney Spears), Dylan “3D” Dresdow (Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Madonna), and Jeff Rothschild (Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias).
With a string of new releases on the way, the young musician looks set to join the ranks of the latest pop stars conquering the world.
