Raz is a multi-genre trio formed in Colchester, Essex, UK, playing Jazz, Funk, Pop, and Rock fusion. 'Raz' is derived from 'Rock' and 'Jazz'.
Raz began in May 2014 as a college and university project. The band seeks to cross the boundaries of musical genres to create a new blend of sound unique to the band. Individual members of Raz have 15+ years experience in music performance and recording.
Raz have frequently performed in Essex, Suffolk, London, Hertford and surrounding areas, including: The Birds Nest in London, Hot Box in Chelmsford, Queen Street Brewhouse, Colchester Arts Centre, Coda and Three Wise Monkeys in Colchester, Manor Ballroom Ipswich and many more brilliant music venues!
Raz have also performed at festivals such as: Clacton Sea and Beach Festival, Kelvedon Community Festival, Maldon Smoke and Fire Festival, B-natural Festival and the Jazz festival in Harwich.
When Raz are not performing or collaborating, they are writing new pieces of music, writing over 40 originals and counting.
