The Spanglish singer RDKL is an unique artist for the times. In such an incredibly diverse age, his songs are appreciated by English and Latino music-lovers around the globe. Born and raised in North New Jersey, RDKL started his musical journey at the age of 5 through taking piano lessons, singing at church, and directing a choir at the age of 14. Heavily influenced by Hip Hop, Reggaeton, and R&B, RDKL seeks to convey the themes of love, heartbreak, and life’s journeys through a fusion of these genres.
RDKL gained renown by posting covers of his favorite songs on YouTube. He amassed up to 26,000 subscribers and a decent-sized following on Facebook that listened to and reposted his videos. From there, he caught the attention of Grammy Award winner Chris “Flame” Ussery, and moved to Atlanta and began a songwriting career.
In 2016, He was signed to an independent label through a major showcase in Atlanta, and this sparked further growth in him as an artist. RDKL also worked with heavy hitters in the industry like Bryan-Michael Cox, Tony Dixon, and Dru Castro. RDKL also took lessons from the celebrity vocal coach, Nick Cooper. The following year, he debuted his chart topping song, “AyAyAy”, on huge media outlets in Miami.
Eventually the label and RDKL decided to part ways, and RDKL became an independent artist. RDKL is ready to use this new chapter of his life to embrace the independent grind, and give his fans what they have been waiting for.
