Rebecca Gilmore

<a href="spotify:artist:7mnpTQiTsclcuRmAWUPeyc" data-name="Rebecca Gilmore">Rebecca Gilmore</a>, an orchestral, chamber, solo cellist and NS Artist, recently celebrated 20 years of work with the <a href="spotify:artist:0KITXSblhUOftKpIno4cL9" data-name="Virginia Symphony Orchestra">Virginia Symphony Orchestra</a>. Along with Maestro <a href="spotify:artist:7va3hWIVG2F3yM5tSAJead" data-name="Eric Jacobsen">Eric Jacobsen</a> she will continue to create beauty and lead as Assistant Principal Cello. She has proven her musical complexity in leading Strauss operas, as featured soloist in Beethoven&#39;s Triple Concerto (2016), and cello soloist throughout Europe, China, Canada, and the USA. She has performed chamber music, with <a href="spotify:artist:0E5u7lkdHuaKLvGUsy0MXW" data-name="Olga Kern">Olga Kern</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4XNYbiwP1fToWVyvNPTMMK" data-name="Joann Falletta">Joann Falletta</a> (on NPR), performed concerts by her very own 20 year creation, <a href="spotify:artist:5h4BsLmTILkd4kcaIIYgGj" data-name="Ambrosia Quartet">Ambrosia Quartet</a>, featuring chamber music by <a href="spotify:artist:3uUFClFtbjbjQQIq4BjY2C" data-name="Caroline Shaw">Caroline Shaw</a>, and having recorded music with Albany Records of music by <a href="spotify:artist:3z8CWLkgblFxhhDrPMfAZC" data-name="Adolphus Hailstork">Adolphus Hailstork</a>. Most recently she can be heard on www.whro.org/virtualconcerts concert #6 (02/2021) performing with pianist, Dr. Daniel Lau, in Beethoven&#39;s Cello and Piano Sonata in A Major. Ms. Gilmore has been a featured solo and chamber artist with the Virginia Arts Festival, the VSO, and on numerous college series.
Ms. Gilmore holds Bachelor&#39;s and Master&#39;s degrees in Cello Performance from Indiana and Rice Universities. Her teachers include Starker, Tsutsumi, Norm Fischer, and Des Hoebig. / Ms. Gilmore adores her cello studios through both the Academy of Music and Christopher Newport University. / Rebecca emerged out of 2020 with a renewed vigor for Yoga training, adding #yogawithcello and soloing #classi-crossover. http://www.rebeccagilmore.com
