The minimal electronics duo Rechenzentrum formed in Berlin around producer Marc Weiser and design artist Lillevän. Weiser, a DJ and vocalist as well, organized the Berlin club night Maria am Ostbahnhof and the festival Club Transmediale. Lillevän worked with artists including Christine Hill and <a href="spotify:artist:0ecGioDyIR2QiyujHeiwHw">Blixa Bargeld</a> before coming together with Weiser as the visual half of Rechenzentrum. The duo remixed <a href="spotify:artist:3TjDnMzp8ezc6SgJ7DS9AZ">Tarwater</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0p7ozI1N4mWedQrSw2U4dA">Laub</a>, and Elektronauten then released their self-titled debut on Kitty-Yo in 2000.
