Red Devil Vortex is a “retro-future metal” trio from Los Angeles, CA, delivering explosive live shows, massive hooks, fierce vocals, thunderous riffs, and jaw-dropping guitar solos. Formed in 2016, the band features Gabriel Connor (vocals, bass), Luis Kalil (guitars, vocals), and Luke Wright (drums).
Blending mystical and apocalyptic themes with sci-fi, horror, and anti-hero energy, they create dark yet vibrant visuals and a sound that feels like stepping into another world. Their debut EP Something Has To Die (2018) hit No. 16 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart and No. 49 on the Independent Albums Chart. It was followed by Dark Secrets (2022), featuring the acclaimed single Psycho, and the live release RDV’s In Town (2022) as a warm-up to their first full-length, Red Devil Vortex (2023). That album delivered fan favorites like Open The Gates, The Last Fight, and More Luck Than Brains, with Luis Kalil’s solo on More Luck Than Brains earning 3rd Best Guitar Solo of 2023 from Guitar World Magazine.
Since then, Red Devil Vortex has toured relentlessly with acts like Doyle (The Misfits), Powerman 5000, Epica, Genitorturers, and Kings of Thrash, bringing their unstoppable energy to stages across the U.S.
