‘Red J’, real name Jake Hynes is a 27 year old International DJ/Producer from Cavan, Ireland and Father of One.

From a young age Jake started Dj’ing using his uncles mk3 technics in the attic of his grandmothers house in Cavan. Mixing songs from the mid 90’s and early 2000’s, beginning his passion and love for music.

Jake’s music was influenced by his love for many different genre’s. When asked what his favourite genre of music was, he replied ‘I don’t have one’. He went on to further say ‘sometimes i like to kick back and listen to the blues, other times i listen to Hip-Hop, Rock, Reggae, i like all types of music and i try to incorporate this into my production’s.

Jake learned his craft by studying Music Production and Music Technology within Ireland and Scotland. Earning two degree’s along the way. In 2018 he moved to Toronto, Canada to further his knowledge within the industry by working as a live sound engineer and DJ’ing for a venue called ‘The Hideout on College Street’.

Which led him to release singles such as ‘Damhsa’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ and ‘Good For Nothing’. These singles received huge support on social media and also gaining airtime on Ireland’s popular radio station’s ‘iRadio and Spin1038’ by DJ’s ‘Marty Guilfoyle’ and ‘Dave Duke’.

This is only the beginning for this young producer and the future is most certainly bright.
