Red Lung is an alternative country music project of a Latvia based musician Kristiāns Laizāns.
This project is an attempt to take the empathetic nature of country music to tell stories that would relate to a wider range of listeners without disregard to their views and personal backgrounds. Kristiāns holds a belief that there are certain narratives that most people have followed during their lifetimes and bringing this into light could draw people closer through a shared sentiment. Among the current stylistic influences of Red Lung are Jason Isbell & 400 Unit, Wilco, Drive-By-Truckers and many other contemporary and alternative country artists.
The artist started writing country music in 2018 previously having been involved in alternative/prog rock projects. However, until now none of the material had been made available to the public beyond a small number of exclusive performances.
