Red Sands

Red Sands are a melodic heavy metal band formed in Mexico City in 2012 by Daniel Novelo on guitars, Eric Novelo on bass, and Juan Carlos León on piano and keyboards. Their lineup would be complete with the addition of Ángel Asiain on drums, and Jonathan Corral on vocals.

The band’s musical style is a combination of memorable melodies with captivating metal riffs and arrangements. Their most notable influences are bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Iced Earth, Deep Purple, Therion, and Opeth, among others.

After ten years of personal growth, musical training, and lineup changes, Red Sands are experiencing a period of rebirth. They released their first single, My Beloved Ghost, with more than 15 K streams across multiple platforms, and positive reviews from specialized press; they toured around Mexico with 13 shows in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Toluca, and Teotihuacan, and recently collaborated with former Iced Earth’s vocalist, Stu Block, to release their second single, The Hunt.

Red Sands’ newest release, The Coven, is a song full of magick and darkness, devoted to the musical roots of the band, combining elements of doom, gothic, and symphonic metal. A tune that blends horror with a message of liberty: the freedom of oneself.
