Red Vinyl Gypsies is an original alternative/pop-punk band out of Knoxville Tennessee. In 2017 the band started out as a husband/wife duo with Julie Boisseau-Craig - vocals and lyrics and Jimi Craig - doubleneck guitar/bass and songwriter. Red Vinyl Gypsies was a result of the breakup of their previous band Something Wicked, which they had some success with, opening for Blackfoot, Wayland and Super Bob between 2014 and 2017. After the break up they decided to change it up and Red Vinyl Gypsies was born.
Julie grew up in Southern California and was heavily influenced by the 60's, 70's & 80's, from hairbands to the punk scene. Jimi Craig grew up in upstate New York and was also influenced by the same decades with a specific love of hairbands, punk and heavy metal. Those influences have formed the Red Vinyl Gypsies eclectic sound.
In 2019 they were joined Chris Vaught - bass. Now more dynamic than ever, Red Vinyl Gypsies has begun to grow an international following.
In July 2019 Red Vinyl Gypsies will be embarking on their greatest adventure yet. Their "California or Bust Tour 2019" will find them playing in cities across the USA, with their biggest show to date being at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, California, where they will be opening for Pretty Boy Floyd!
