With big raspy vocals and deep lyrics from Wullie Ri ,booming tones from John Martin on the bass guitar, power chord changes from Darren and a fast tempo from Stevens Andrews, the Refuge Island concept is raw and will make your ears prick up to listen.


Launching in spring with a set of shows across Scotland, including supporting Brown Bear in Bakers on May 5, the debut single ‘Above Board’ is a modern love story with an edgy perspective. Written in half hour and recorded in a day, it a high energy sexy sound with matching swagger. Cameron Brisbane shot the video in a half-derelict, soon-to-be boxing gym in Saltcoats resonating with the bands hopeful ethos to take refuge in your passions.

Influenced by The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Libertines, The Stooges, False Heads, Trampoline and Slaves to name a few, the band is working hard on new material and will be touring across Scotland in a venue near you.
