Myrix Media Group CEO and music producer Reginald L. Myricks aka Regi Myrix has always had a love for music. His father played the guitar in the household and at age 14, he took up the guitar where he played local gigs in New Jersey. As a child, he often heard sounds and beats in his head, imitating things such as birds and drum patterns with his mouth, way before beat-boxing was widely popular.
After high school, Myricks enrolled in the military where he was involved with Operation Desert Storm for six months during the Gulf War. After that, he was stationed in Germany, but never too far away from the sound of music, as he played in jam sessions with is fellow soldiers, booking many gigs while stationed there. The exposure eventually led to the opportunity to play in backing bands for bigger artists, one band being the real voices behind the group formerly known as Milli Vanilli. In 1992, Myricks returned to the U.S., this time as a civilian and still playing the occasional gig. As a starving musician, he decided to enroll in Lincoln Tech Institute where he got into a software engineering career.
While a steady day job is good, music still called. In 2006, Myricks got back into music as a producer, starting the label Myrix Media Group with his brother. He has produced #1 Hit songs in the UK and Billboard Charting songs in US and his reputation is growing.
