Niklas Wiik, professionally known as Reginald, is an electronic musician, producer, and remix artist hailing in Berlin, Germany. He initially made his mark in the scene under his previous pseudonym, NiQW, and released several successful tracks with well-known labels such as Toolroom, Dirtybird, and Night Bass. After several years as NiQW, he released his first EP as Reginald in 2020 on My Techno Weighs A Ton.
In 2022, Reginald released his career-shaping debut album ‘Why Can’t We All Be Friends’, which featured collaborations with a global range of artists including Wongo, Steve Darko, Danny Goliger and GetCosy, to name but a few.
In 2023 Reginald launched Platypus Trax imprint which has slowly evolved from only a music label, to an event organisation debuting a plethora of events in Helsinki and Berlin in 2025.
Reginald’s versatility and range as an artist is evident in his diverse body of work, which covers various styles including heavy pounding techno, bass-driven tech house, breaks, garage, and electro. He describes his sound as “addictively groovy, seriously not so serious with beautiful moments of relief and respectfully energetic.” He draws inspiration from the UK’s garage scene, Chicago club style, Detroit electro, Berlin techno, and old school breaks, as he believes that “sound is limitless, so why should anyone keep it simple?”.
