Render Ghosts

Render Ghosts (London/Utrecht) are a new trio taking synth pop’s origin myth of endless sonic possibility into the 21st century.

This is the first meeting of three musicians who make wildly different music as individuals —

Tamara van Esch is well known in the Netherlands as a singer-songwriter who sings in Dutch for her solo project <a href="spotify:artist:6I0aljI1BGURKG86BHka5C" data-name="Tamara van Esch">Tamara van Esch</a>, and as a multi-instrumentalist in bands such as Jo Goes Hunting, Drive Like Maria and Blaudzun.

<a href="spotify:artist:2tyW4gmLrPuU1fbnbBxPKY" data-name="Tom O C Wilson">Tom O C Wilson</a> is a classically-trained composer of infectiously playful arthouse pop.

<a href="spotify:artist:4x6B24wJ06TBizIb0uW51R" data-name="Iain Chambers">Iain Chambers</a> is a sound artist who uses buildings as instruments, famously turning London’s Tower Bridge into a massive resonating chamber, and is a founder member of the UK’s leading musique concrète ensemble, <a href="spotify:artist:54KhHk9TxFFlNe4SdkBDW0" data-name="Langham Research Centre">Langham Research Centre</a> .

As a group they map out a unique space somewhere between <a href="spotify:artist:7xBGi7Eign0fX7jGQj5KlJ" data-name="GRACEY">GRACEY</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1HOeqtP7tHkKNJNLzQ2tnr" data-name="Everything Everything">Everything Everything</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0z5DFXmhT4ZNzWElsM7V89" data-name="Erasure">Erasure</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7bcbShaqKdcyjnmv4Ix8j6" data-name="St. Vincent">St. Vincent</a>.

Tom and Tamara&#39;s lyrics map out the disorientation of human relationships in a digital world. Iain Chambers’ rich, synth-heavy soundscapes emerge from interlocking melodies and propulsive beats, allowing his musique concrète roots to show through.
