Rendra Zawawi

Rendra Zawawi is a Malaysian award-winning music composer, songwriter, producer, and musician who has had his work featured on international shores including the US, UK, Japan, and the Southeast Asia region. The LA-based composer is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production.

As a composer, Rendra has accomplished his leading role as a composer for feature scores like the feature documentary “M For Malaysia, the epic fantasy “Temenggor”, and the horror film “Suraya by Feisk Productions, as well as the award-winning shorts “Antidote” and “Saptapadi” playing in festivals worldwide. His work on the Ola Bola’s theme song “Arena Cahaya” has won him “Best Film Song” for the Malaysian Film Festival 2017 and Golden Horse Award 2017. His recent composition “Bermula Kita”, a theme song for “M For Malaysia” featuring Yuna has garnered an impressive 2 million views.

Apart from working on his personal projects, Rendra also works with Emmy-winning composer and mentor Mac Quayle, – working on shows such as USA Network’s Golden Globe Winner “Mr. Robot”, FOX’s “American Horror Story”, “FEUD: Bette and Joan”, “9-1-1”, “American Crime Story”, FOX’s “Scream Queens”, as well as NETFLIX’s “The Politician”.

Rendra is an active member of the Television Academy of America (Emmys), and is one of the founding member Amplitone Productions, a music production company based in Los Angeles.
