Rest. began through a series of God-aligned events. Brothers Sean Washington and Brian Washington had recently arrived in Georgia after spending years touring with gospel singer Eddie James. Meanwhile, Hagin Henderson was undergoing a radical conversion to Christianity following the disbandment of his band, The Variant.
While Sean and Brian were trying to start a new band in Georgia, they met Hagin at an open mic night and invited him to “jam” with them. A few weeks later, the first practice session took place with no expectations of how it would turn out. Within minutes, songs began to take shape, soon including one of their first compositions, “Why’d You Change.” This song defined the sound of a group of friends who quickly became more like brothers.
