Retta Young

Retta Young is an American singer who rose to fame during a time when music was made with real instruments, real vocals, and real love. She made a significant impact charting on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles, Cash Box Top 100 R&B, and UK Top 30 charts. Retta was associated with the All Platinum record label, known for producing hits for various artists, including The Moments (aka: Ray, Goodman & Brown) and Sylvia.

Before embarking on her solo career, Retta was a member of a female group called Devotion, which was originally known as The Superbs. The group experienced some success, and songs like Dawning of Love and So Glad You're Home.

Young's solo career took off in the 1970s, particularly with the release of her hit single Sending Out An S.O.S., produced by Al Goodman and Harry Ray of The Moments.
