We pushed ourselves not to settle, and we knew that we were going to push much harder here. When we brought material in, it had to outdo the last album.
We always strive for that. This record is definitely an exploration of the vocals and melodies. There’s a story in there.
Because we have very finite window of time to put these records together, we are nonstop when we regroup. Each writer is very involved.
We work all day in the studio writing and recording in Garage Band to craft the perfect song and structure. With Robs amazing drum midi skills, adding a drum tracks help everyone has added much made creativity to work with.
Since Aaron lives out of state, files would be sent back and forth with creative ideas until we had a solid structure of the song. After that, we are ready to hit the studio. It has been intense but so manageable with modern tech.
Constantly progressing, we decided to employ some fresh techniques, utilize more alternate tunings and even recorded using Aarons favorite guitar technique, the 80’s dive bomb. Rob also added much more double bass bring back that hard rock sound that we all love! We have also experimented with guitar harmonies and Synths.
We don’t want to put out the same thing over and over again, We want to keep everyone guessing.
Every time we do a record, I’m reminded of how great it is to have this passionate and loyal audience. We don’t take it lightly. We consider it an honor that people let us into their lives that way.
