Born in the burbs of the Motor City in the fall of 2011, American indie rock band RevulsA was founded by award-winning vocalist Ashley Faye and songwriting partner and guitarist Joe Kupski. Together, they set out to make and record genre-bending music that wouldn't sound like anything or anybody else in the local music scene. After 14 years, multiple singles, two full-length LPs, a soulful mezzo-soprano grit that can lift you and deliver lyrics that will split your heart in two, maniacal and melodic guitar finesse, and the booming, bone quaking, booty shaking, live rock n roll wall of sound presence of a band of Leo Mitchell on drums, Gavin Walters on guitar, and James Thompson on bass; to say they've succeeded is one hell of an understatement.

You know it from the opening moments of RevulsA's eclectic debut LP Somnolence & Dissonance and you can hear it the entire duration of their critically acclaimed dark pop social masterpiece, 2021's Creep. You know it from the reggae rock Peter Pan soundscape of “Pleasure Island,” the poignantly sober “Rings of Saturn,” or the raucous headbanging barnstorm of “Gloves Are Off", RevulsA isn't your average run-of-the-mill three-chord rock 'n roll band. They're deep, they're memorable, they're unique, they're loud, and they're not just good: They're damned good.
