Ria is an exciting new Dallas/NJ based singer-songwriter, with a background in both western and Indian singing. Picking up the interest at a young age, Ria grew up intuitively writing and composing music to process life and capture her experiences and imaginations into tangible art.
From writing her first song at age 13, to teaching herself piano and guitar, to composing arrangements for her collegiate south Asian a cappella team, she has always felt a strong passion for music and a deep connection with it.
She strives to create both Hindi and English songs encompassing those aspects of music that she most deeply connects with -- crafting pieces that are lyrical, cinematic, soulful, and melodious. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Billie Eilish, Hozier, Lizzy McAlpine, Amit Trivedi, and A.R. Rehman, her sound brings together Indian influences and western indie pop, and creates a colorful and inviting atmosphere that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.
