Rian Wyld is more than an independent hip-hop artist — she’s a symbol of resilience. Raised in Poughkeepsie, NY Rian Wyld's music is shaped by the rhythm of her upbringing and the tragedy of losing her brother, Ryan, to gun violence in 2014. Born Iman Gray, her stage name, Rian Wyld, honors his memory. It’s a reminder of the deep pain that fuels her art, but also the strength and resilience that she channels into every verse.

Rian’s musical journey began long before her entrance in hip-hop. Growing up, her family’s basement was filled with turntables and crates of vinyl spanning hip-hop, gospel, r&b/soul, rock & jazz. In high school, she channeled her emotions through learning classical piano and later earned a BA in Music. Her classical foundation remains a core influence in her sound, blending the technicality of piano with the raw, emotional energy of her rap and soul roots. This dynamic range is what defines her unique genre, Rap Soul — a blend of introspective lyricism and heartfelt melodies.

Since 2015, Rian has been living in The Bronx, NYC. With every release, she continues to push boundaries, not just as an artist, but as a voice for those who need to hear that they are not alone. Her music is a healing force, an anthem for the broken, the fearless, and the dreamers. In a world that often feels chaotic, Rian Wyld is the calm in the storm — reminding us all that through the darkest of times, we can still find the light within.
