Richard has been playing and writing music nearly all of his life. He studied classical piano as a child. "I used to sneak into the sanctuary at my temple and play the organ for hours. Looking back, I can see that God was encountering me, though I wouldn't have said it that way back then." He was swept up in the rock 'n' roll tidal wave of the 60's and played in bands. His college major was theatre arts. He also worked with visual artists as an art dealer, and founded a special events company in the 80's. Music really came together for Richard when he joined his first church worship team. "I was home and I knew it." He continued writing songs and honing his musical skills, adding electric bass to the mix. Today, Richard plays regularly on his home church worship team and leads weekly worship sets at the Pasadena International House of Prayer.
