Richard Strick has been an amateur musician for over 50 years. While he always loved music, and was an avid listener to Top 40 radio, as well as Bay Area soul stations, KSOL and KDIA, what changed him from a listener to a songwriter was his early 60's exposure to the music of Bob Dylan. The realization that popular music had the potential to convey such depth and beauty was what inspired him to begin writing songs.
Strick has continued to write and has accumulated a substantial catalog, and has produced two albums: "Me and My Jawbone" in 2014, and with the band Hearts and Bones, "Barbed Wire Valentine" in 2017 which included songs by Paul Greenly, a founding former member of the band. Due (at least in part) to the absence of any promotional effort, these albums are unheard of and unknown to anyone but close friends and family.
At this stage in his "career" Strick is ready to "step from the shadows to the marketplace" to quote his favorite song writer. To this end he is releasing a series of singles ( about six) that have been recorded in the last year or so. This is to be followed shortly by a release of a new album that is being finished in the studio now.
