The first single by Basel singer-songwriter Richard Wipf is called "Society". The musician himself describes his style as "Honest Pop". Honestly, that sounds about right. Because there is nothing mouthy about this music, and that is precisely why it exudes greatness. No sound too many, no beat too heavy. Everything is easy, and you get a tendency to dance. And there is this voice - warm, radiant and yet dark, as if a secret was concealed within it.

Richard Wipf - front man of the band Phoam - is starting his career as a solo artist with the single "Society". "I was born for music. I imitated Ricky Martin when I was only three," he says, laughing. While his taste in music has changed over the years, his passion has remained. Today, Richard Wipf writes songs because he likes to tell stories. Stories that leave space for the audience's own thoughts. The electronic song "Society" is about two people who come from completely different worlds. "I had the image of a career man who takes what he wants without thinking of others. He meets a survival artist with a good heart who wants a society with a different structure, built on different values." He does not aim to pass judgement on what may be right or wrong, but rather, he wants to stimulate thought about various visions of a better world.
