Richie Buz is a young emerging artist from Milwaukee Wisconsin. He first began rapping in 2010 at the dawn of the blog/mixtape era, citing the 2010 BET Cyphers as something that caught his attention. Over the past 13 years he went from someone who rapped at the lunchtable and for English projects in high school to a full fledged artist.
Richie Buz is a dynamic artist as he mixes the lyricism and wordbending that was prevalent in the Golden era of Hip Hop in the 90s and 2000s with the sonics and bounce that is frequent in contemporary rap music to create a new sound that can read multiple audience.
In Buz's music contains stories about his upbringing, violence & social life in Milwaukee, oppressed people, spirituality, his culture as a Black man that was born and raised in the US to Nigerian immigrants, and other anecdotes that he hopes will enlighten and resonate with others.
Buz would describe himself as an overthinker and often not only is his music a form of release but the lyrics themselves can reveal many sporadic thoughts.
Richie Buz hopes to not only be a leader in pushing Milwaukee Hip Hop to the forefront but using his music to shift a generation and the world around him. To Buz, Hip Hop is not just popular culture. It is a historical tradition that can change society
