Guitar player, songwriter, singer and producer Rick Deak (former Atlantic Recording Artist) has spent the past few decades touring the country and collaborating on projects in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. His first full length album production credit was with The Vindys’ 2017 release Keep Going immediately gave him membership in the band as the second guitar slinger.
In addition to The Vindys, Rick Deak actively promotes his solo 2016 release The Black EP. The first single “Sunday” can be found on rotation on several AAA web radio stations and was ranked number 17 on the Summit FM’s (Akron) local songs of 2017. It was the release of his debut solo EP that introduced his true spirit and musical direction. Rick Deak’s sound has been described as “a unique blend of Wilco and Jayhawks with some Pete Yorn”.
Prior to Rick Deak’s current projects, he was a member of the rock-n-roll band Sinomatic who signed with Atlantic Records and recorded their self-titled album at the prestigious Sound City Studios (Tom Petty, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac) in Van Nuys, California. Sinomatic’s first single “Bloom” charted on the Billboard top 15 active rock songs and the single “You’re Mine” is featured in the 2001 Paul Walker Thriller movie Joy Ride. A few of Rick Deak’s Sinomatic touring credits include opening for AC/DC, Buckcherry,Todd Rundgren, The Cult, Collective Soul, Creed and Alice Cooper.
