Rick Grove

At some point in Grove’s relatively new career, he’s described himself as a confused singer-songwriter, hopeful rock’n’roller, and a fully grown indie-head. Which makes sense when listening to the 2023 debut album “Reasons”, written by a mid-twenties guitar player in between bands. The debut came to exist when the still heart aching, soul searchinging and song writing Rick stumbled upon artist and producer Mikhael Paskalev. Over the course of the next three years, the two of them, along his loyal quartet of musicians recorded what would become “Reasons”.

And upon the album’s release, Stavanger Aftenblad gave "Reasons" a score of 6 out of 6 and stated:

«One of this year's best debuts, here you go. (...) Grove is a solid storyteller, and the psychedelic instrumental pieces are warmly welcome. The dance flows freely, while the realities of life are present.»

The music video to «Blur», directed by Elliot Houwing-Endresen, received the award “Best Norwegian Music Video of 2023” at Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF).
