The Ricky Angel story begins in 2012 in Memphis, Tennessee when he and his brother, Chris, formed the rock band, Fingertrick. Despite having no connections in the industry, the two brothers scratched and clawed their way onto the unforgiving Memphis scene. At only 13 years old, Ricky was playing all over the city and beyond. However, it was the legendary Stage Stop that he called home. The owner, Nita Makris (“The Mother Of Memphis Rock And Roll”) took a special interest in Fingertrick and under her guidance, Ricky mastered the bass, found his voice, and developed a signature stage presence. Ever the showman, his unique and wildly charismatic antics on stage have already become a part of Memphis music legend.
Amidst the whirlwind of Fingertrick, Ricky was quietly taking these talents and perfecting them. He developed a genuine knack for creating catchy songs with big, hooky choruses and Ricky focused on keeping his writing more mainstream. As a result, he built a solo catalog of songs that were nothing short of exceptional.
But when you take away Fingertrick and his other musical projects and collaborations, you are left with Ricky Angel, the solo artist. And these are the songs that must be heard. Born from the sweat, blood, and tears of uncompromising resolve, and straight from the heart and soul of one of the last real, genuine rock and roll soldiers—“Line In The Sky” is perfection. Perfection wrapped in honesty and pain and hope.
