Traveling through the rich social fabric of Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida has certainly paid dividends for singer songwriter Ricky Joseph. Immersing himself in the authenticity of Americana and its heartfelt organic storytelling, he has returned to his native North Jersey to build his career as a solo artist.
Inspired by acts such as Pearl Jam, Mumford and Sons, Tyler Childers, Guy Clark, Gordon Lightfoot, George Harrison, Radiohead and Audioslave, it is the raw emotions of his experiences that drive him to release music with truth at its core. That is hardly surprising when you consider that he also spends time in Tennessee and its music capital Nashville to further his song writing abilities.
Releasing his stunning debut track Codeine in 2023, the song features the nexus of sublime vocals washing away the pain, a palette of Country, Roots, Folk, a touch of Blue Grass and an honesty that everyone can buy into.
Not content to sit on his laurels, Ricky is about to follow up his first track with an EP and a tour that will take his music to the people.
