Founded in 2010 by composer/conductor <a href="spotify:artist:1syo5wnTXebY8LEJb0gXb6" data-name="Valtteri Laurell">Valtteri Laurell</a>, Ricky-Tick Big Band is a 17-member jazz orchestra based in Helsinki, Finland. The heavy line-up of the genre bending band includes top Finnish jazz talent: trumpetist <a href="spotify:artist:1XkMHQpWReEHMCLatUl0St" data-name="Jukka Eskola">Jukka Eskola</a> , saxophonist <a href="spotify:artist:341VCWqMvdMnDP98GjaGYL" data-name="Linda Fredriksson">Linda Fredriksson</a> and bassist <a href="spotify:artist:6uEOkKRkGPB7Z274RWBiCR" data-name="Antti Lötjönen">Antti Lötjönen</a> amongst many others.
Ricky-Tick Big Band and Julkinen Sana is a collaboration between RTBB and three of Finland’s top MCs, <a href="spotify:artist:5CNgBVZXUEEGqyzgjUAgDj" data-name="Paleface">Paleface</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5zOhiw5KZ3NFfCRZQmCKf3" data-name="Tommy Lindgren">Tommy Lindgren</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3qy9C549vuJzgevoM0ZiRA" data-name="Redrama">Redrama</a>. The group took its native country Finland by storm in 2013 with its critically acclaimed debut album Burnaa, which spent 17 consecutive weeks in the Finnish album chart. After 2 following albums, Korottaa Panoksii (2015) and Pidä Valot Päällä (2018) and touring all over the country, the collab went on a hiatus in 2019. Now the doors of their office are about to reopen in 2025 with new MC/singer <a href="spotify:artist:38wI9qgPMb7FoMu2IrzXht" data-name="F">F</a> joining the frontline!
