Ride Til Dawn

Rising from the ashes of several high school garage bands, Ride Til Dawn have established themselves as fine purveyors of their own brand of Powerpop and Country Rock on the Canadian Prairies. Their sound of chimey guitars strumming, behind sweet pop vocal melodies, under an arch of weeping steel guitar might bring to mind jangly folk-rock of the 60s, California cosmic country from the 70s or Power-pop pioneers. The lyrical content paints images of endearing characters, warts and all, with a clever and sometimes dark humour, sung in Mitch Grier&#39;s raspy, honest voice. On their newest &amp; fifth release, they brought in their friend Clayton Linthicum (of <a href="spotify:artist:7oJ1EabmX7ejrie3NBzn0p" data-name="Kacy & Clayton">Kacy & Clayton</a>) to be the album&#39;s producer, which has resulted in their strongest collection of songs and performances on record.

Glass Mirage taps into a tradition of abiding charm that feels so salutary to the present. Comfort sounds for harsh times, flowing smoothly, full of finger-picked gentleness, earthy amiability and slide caresses. A heart-warming gem.
