This U.K. punk band started in 1981 in Manchester and released a series of aggressive and politically volatile EPs with songs like "Civil Destruction," "Unite & Fight," and "Hate the Law." Vocalist Dunk Mason released some of the records on his Rot label, eventually collecting them on a full-length titled There Ain't No Solution. All of Riot Squad's recordings became highly collectable among Oi! and punk collectors in the ensuing years. A CD collection, appropriately titled Complete Punk Collection, was issued in the '90s by Anagram Records. Like many Oi! groups, their concerts were dangerous affairs and, coupled with an ever changing lineup, they lost momentum and drifted apart in 1984. ~ Wade Kergan, Rovi
