Growing up in the inner city of St.Louis, Missouri. Rip James was surrounded by situations that made him focus on survival. After his brother died in 1997, music became his outlet. He would rhyme and freestyle on a regular basis as a way to channel his pain and anger from his loss. He was starting to make a name for himself in St.Louis in more ways than one. He then relocated to Florida in 2006 to start fresh. He is small in stature but his energy and free styling demands attention and that is where he grew as an artist in Florida. This led to him connecting with people in the industry while he was there. He was soon collaborating and being booked as the headliner for many shows in Tampa, Orlando and St. Petersburg,Fl.

His fan base started growing rapidly in Florida, then grew out to the US and spilled into the United Kingdom. He has returned to St.Louis to continue his love for music. He has returned with more creative juices and a much stronger determination to succeed.
