Some call him the man with a master plan. Tempe-Based singer, rapper, and producer Ritchie Couturr is slowly radiating the airwaves with his colorful sound. Couturr incorporates different genres to create his distinct sound, taking cues from Brooklyn's drill music South Africa's Amapiano and Jamaica's Dancehall and fusing it with R&B and Pop elements.
Born and raised in Brooklyn's neighborhood of Flatbush Ritchie Couturr, (Born Jamall Andrew Richards) came to fall in love with music from an early age. He picked up the art of drumming and singing from the age of 5. He started to pursue rap by 14. He used to constantly skip school to record music with his friends in the school's basement. His family then relocated to Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania where would then go on to joining professional choir Urbane, while attending school at Pocono Mountain West High. Urbane would allow Richards to perform at numerous state events, McDonald's gospel fest and subsequently Buckhill Skytop Music Festival landing a role on Gershwin's Porgy and Bess under the direction of Producer and Composer Jimmy Roberts.
At 17 he relocated to Phoenix, AZ where he met Gregory Cole (Tru Barz) and helped form their hip hop collective Godlike Music. Together they would go on playing a key role in Phoenix's underground scene as the 'Public Enemy' and creative mastermind contributing his production flavor, fusing his native New York's Hip Hop element and Jamaican flavor with Arizona's west coast sound.
