Singer/Songwriter, father of three beautiful spirits, husband of one beautiful soul. From Maclean, northern NSW, Australia.
"Songwriting has been an addiction to me. I have tried to give it up or at least, leave it alone, but it pulls at me like an out-going tide.
Writing a song is the most addictive thing – the dance you can do with a few chords, a simple idea, and a little solitude. The end result is not always something profound but still rewarding, and at times, therapeutic.
There is a joy in songwriting that cannot be ignored. A certain type of peace that comes from trying to make sense of your thoughts with words and music, no matter how crazy those thoughts may seem.
Does sharing words and music with people who want to listen really have to be such a daunting, scary prospect? I don’t think so."
Inspired by singer / songwriters from around the globe and his Australian heroes, Rob aims to craft songs with his heart well and truly on his sleeve, his style of story-telling accompanying the melody. Influences include Bruce Springsteen, Townes Van Zandt, Tom Petty, Lori McKenna, David Gray, Billy Bragg, Paul Kelly, Fanny Lumsden, Shane Howard, Mick Thomas, The Waifs, to name a few........
Rob has been lucky enough to support some amazing Aussie artists on his musical journey so far, including The Black Sorrows, Mental As Anything, Sara Storer, Russell Morris, Catherine Britt, The Bushwackers, Shane Nicholson, Adam Harvey and Tim Freedman.
