Rob Matthews

My name is Rob Matthews, born November 9th, 1966. I am a singer/song writer from Brantford, Ontario, Canada. I write a variety of genres country, rock, faith/gospel, and a bit of HipHop. I also play drums.. I started playing drums at the age of 12, but when I was 16, and friend heard me singing, and told me I should be singer. I started writing my own lyrics at the age of 16. mostly an Ozzy Osborne style. as I matured as a writer, my song because less sinister. though I was a rock and roll guy... my mom loved country music. so I put together a country/rock album to honor my late mother, who died at the young age of 55 from Leukemia. that 1st 12 song album had people craving more. but with my 2nd 12 song album titled "Final Warning", I had to finish what I started out with my former band- "6 Days Away", I couldn't seem to peak their interest in recording my songs.... so my 2nd 12 song album, was my way of proving what happens when you don't give up on your dreams. my 3rd album will be a 12 song country album due to the demand... album 4 will be a faith/gospel album. something I strongly feel compelled to do. though I have written some HipHop/Rap songs I doubt they will get me up on the world stage... but I would rule out writing for the right HipHop/Rap artist with the right royalty agreement. but the same with all my other songs. things could be agreed upon with the right contract agreement. all my songs are co-written by myself, and producer Randy Solski.
