Harmonica-playing vocalist Rob Stone delivers a unique blend of deeply rooted authentic traditional blues and high-energy house-rocking sounds with a contemporary edge. Before relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, Stone cut his teeth for over twenty years on the Chicago blues scene playing with and learning from the masters. Trio in Tokyo, Stone's 2021 acoustic trio album featuring Japanese pianist Elena Kato and bassist Hiroshi Eguchi, was recognized globally and nominated for a Blues Blast Award. The album garnered sterling reviews and sailed high on the International Blues Radio Charts. Gotta Keep Rollin’, Rob’s 2015 Vizztone Records release, peaked at #2 on the Roots Music Report Radio Charts. His 2010 CD, Back Around Here, on the Earwig label, remained on the International blues charts for 54 weeks and was named by Living Blues Magazine as one of the year’s top albums. It was preceded by 1998’s No Worries and 2003’s Just My Luck, which was nominated for a Chicago Music Award in the Best Blues Album category. Stone was featured prominently in the Martin Scorsese-produced “Godfathers and Sons” episode of The Blues series that aired on PBS stations nationwide in 2003, the feature documentary Sam Lay in Bluesland, as well as Six Generations of the Blues from Mississippi to Chicago. Stone has headlined international tours, playing clubs, concerts, and festivals throughout Europe and Japan, and opened major shows for B.B. King, Etta James, Robert Cray, and many more.
