Robert FlyinyMan Abbott is a central Arkansas native with ties to the Southern Cheyenne Arapaho Tribe. Classically trained in violin and upright bass, FlyingMan-Abbott would later pursue success as a fiddler, competing in competitions such as the Arkansas Fiddle Championships and later performing alongside Bill Monroe in a concert held in Conway, Arkansas.

Abbott found his love of songwriting and guitar/bass playing while still in his teens. His talents would lead to career highlights which include backing up national artists such as Andy Starr of Rockabilly hall of fame, and Dean Mathis of the sixties rock band “The Newbeats.”

Abbott’s other musical endeavors included his band “Nasty Abbott” which consisted of a union of the Abbott family and featured his brothers that were also steeped in the families’ strong ties to musical production. Later would come opportunities to play with musical
talents such as bands like 58 Delrays and Jason Greenlaw and the Groove.

Over the course of his career, one thing has never waivered: Abbott’s love of songwriting and the melody that accompanies it. Never missing an opportunity to sketch whatever lyrics come to mind that day, Abbott takes every opportunity possible to share his love and talents in the art of music composition to share with those around him, never missing a beat.
