Singer-songwriter Robert Guess has released six albums, fronting two eclectic rock bands (Water-Cure / The Letter Green) before returning to his solo roots, influenced by The National, The War On Drugs, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and Prefab Sprout.
The American folk-pop musician hails from New Jersey and was a permanent fixture in the Florida Music scene. After nearly a decade in Los Angeles, Guess now calls Canada home. He continues his sonic thread with the release of his new EP, British Columbia, linked lyrically by the inner world of ego and spirit.
Co-produced by Andy Schichter (Echo Nebraska) at Park Sound Studio in Vancouver, the four songs are buoyed by string and horn arrangements, written by his long-time collaborator, David Rogers, and performed by the Black Dog String Quartet.
British Columbia is an love letter to the majestic Canadian province, inspiring this collection of songs. The project brings together nine Vancouver-based musicians and features singer-songwriter Sydney on background vocals.
