Robert Landfermann (*1982) is considered one of the best and most innovative european jazz-bassplayers of his generation. He won the “german Jazzprize” and „new german jazzaward“ and the prestigeous SWR- and WDR-Jazz Awards and played in different formations with world stars like John Scofield, Lee Konitz, Yo-Yo Ma, Charlie Mariano, Joachim Kühn, Django Bates, Ralph Towner, Chris Potter, Tomasz Stańko and Barre Philips.
In the european scene he is known for being an outstanding improviser in the traditional jazz context as well as in the experimental avantgarde field. He is leading his own ensembles and since his solo-debut-album “Null” 2009 he finds himself alone on stage regularly.
His work is documented on 100+ records on well known labels and on countless radio recordings.
