Robert Schilling is a rock musician from Ashton, Maryland. After picking up the guitar in 2017, he began writing songs a year later, and soon became a pillar of the local open mic scene before releasing his debut single “Bet On Ourselves” in June 2024. His debut album, a triumphant entrance that features eight songs produced in the style of Phil Spector’s famous Wall of Sound, was released on July 26, 2024.
In August 2025, he released the singles Outrun the Storm and Trouble in the Heartland in advance of his sophomore album entitled Trouble in the Heartland that will be arriving on August 22, 2025.
Schilling takes influence from many different variations on the rich American music tradition, ranging from songwriters like Bob Dylan and John Fogerty, heartland rockers Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp, early country artists such as Jimmie Rodgers and Hank Williams, and rockabilly legends, notably Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry.
