Robert Steel is a singer/songwriter based in Austin, TX.
Robert Steel’s 1st full-length solo record “The Calm Waters of Youth” opened to much anticipation and rave reviews for local songwriters,musicians and venues. Having been a staple at venues such as Flipnotics, where he has had several residencies.
He moved to Austin in 2007 and began his solo career, but has also spent a lot of time behind the scenes producing others work, Among the records he has produced, the renowned bluregrass/thrash band, The Electric Mountain Rotten Apple Gang, Country Willie, Some Say Leland, Ron Scott.
Robert has played with Austin greats, such as Graham Weber, Dan Grissom, Ron Scott, Southpaw Jones, Johann Wagner, Country Willie, Sam Baker, Carrie Elkin, Danny Schmidt, Raina Rose, The Band of Heathens.
Robert wears his heart on his sleeve, but he's not mushy about it. He subject matter delve much deeper than one expects someone to go. His lyrics are both poetic and cut right to the chase.
Robert release his album WOLF in 2013 and Split Ends in 2016. He released a single called Cigars and Candy Canes in 2019 and is planning on releasing a solo piano record in 2021.
