Roberto Di Gioia maintains a dual career as a performing pianist and a producer-songwriter, with a body of work that spans over three decades. Between 1990 and 2008, he was a member of Klaus Doldinger’s Passport, a tenure that ran parallel to concerts and recordings with jazz figures such as Art Farmer, Johnny Griffin, Gary Peacock, and Dave Holland.
As a bandleader, Di Gioia explores distinct sonic territories: from the spiritual jazz of his quartet Web Web (with Tony Lakatos) to the eclectic output of Marsmobil and his collaborative work with Peter Kruder, Shuko and Wigald Boning, among others.

Beyond the jazz sphere, Di Gioia has contributed to seminal records including The Notwist’s Neon Golden and MTV Unplugged sessions for both Udo Lindenberg and Max Herre. In the studio, his focus shifts to composition and production. His recent credits include writing and producing Joy Denalane’s Motown album Let Yourself Be Loved, alongside work for Till Brönner, DJ Hell, and many more. Whether accompanying Charlie Watts or crafting textures for Console, Di Gioia operates fluidly across musical disciplines.
