R.O.C

R.O.C are Karen Sheridan (vocals, music), Fred Browning (vocals, music), Patrick Nicholson (music), Danton Supple (production, mixing). The band release their fourth album 'Bile & Celestial Beauty' in March 2019, the band's first new material in 12 years. 

With two lead singers and a musical palette spanning pure pop to pure noise, R.O.C have equally charmed and confounded critics and gained fans including Radiohead and Orbital.

R.O.C first releases in the 90s quickly earned them a reputation for originality and disregard for genres. Airing the band's session for his BBC radio show the late John Peel said: "you never know what you're gonna next from this lot - I'm all in favour of that".

Albums for major and independent labels have earned widespread praise. Reviewing their first album NME said: ""Welcome to the new faces in hell, here to take over the mantle of Satanic Beasts Of Weird Eclecticism last handled by Tricky. There are moments of outstanding abstract beauty, blind fury, fine off-kilter pop, and much, much strangeness." The album was reissued to renewed acclaim in 2014.

All of which might suggest R.O.C is a clever, cerebral band. But they love pop as much as Throbbing Gristle and were thrilled when Dannii Minogue made '(Dis)Count Us In' (from the 'Virgin' album) her Single of the Week in Melody Maker: "It's really chilled out. I like things which are kind of hypnotic and this has got the groove, hasn't it? Fantastic."
