Growing up in Hamburg, Germany Rock Lofty’s musical journey started being educated as a jazz trumpeter in high-school bands in the late 1990s. Heavily influenced by the early German HipHop wave and Artists like <a href="spotify:artist:4XkhEirR2JZT4fncyOxxtf" data-name="Beginner">Beginner</a>, <a href="spotify:playlist:33h0v8hPiNbCiJ4dq0wEcc" data-name="Sammy Deluxe">Sammy Deluxe</a> or <a href="spotify:artist:7Jfwqfcttij8KlrvaIZRBk" data-name="Ferris MC">Ferris MC</a>, he produced his first beats solely on an AKAI MPC2000XL and a mini-disk Recorder. Making himself a name in online forums and the early myspace his first sale dates back to the year 2006 and the Song “Bären und Drachen” by the Freiburg Rap Trio “Mictype”. When german HipHop was reborn in a new wave of gangsta rap with artists like <a href="spotify:artist:4Yttlv9ndGjCDCVLqM7ACq" data-name="Sido">Sido</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3c96G4d2lUOxhomM2mby5S" data-name="Bushido">Bushido</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1SUu1Bi7ev9HbOzyVC77qD" data-name="Kool Savas">Kool Savas</a>, Rock turned his focus towards pop- and electronic dance productions. After almost a decade as a Techno DJ in Berlin, he migrated to Hobart, Tasmania to gain a new perspective on his musical focus and decided to come back to his original roots and give HipHop another go.


His productions range from dark trap anthems over old-school boom-bap groovers to new wave synth and sub rattling soultrap signatures.
