Blending carthatic emo pop and metal-tinged hardcore, Wellington-based Rock Resurrection never shy away from stepping outside the boundaries. Formed just 2 years ago, Rock Resurrection evolved from guitarist Oliver Mackie and drummer Tommy Mackie producing raw, unfiltered instrumental punk. Over the last 2 years, their sound has been refined drastically with the addition of lead guitarist Elliot Conlon, and bassist Isaac Baty, giving the band new life as a no-nonsense melodic punk quartet. Oliver Mackie stepped up to lead vocals, and the band debuted in its current form with the trashy emo pop single 'Why Do U Hate Me', which showcased the band's unique ability to produce annoyingly catchy hooks that blend pop with a metal-influenced punk sound.
Two more singles followed, each one sculpting a unique pedestal in the band's discography. The high-energy, rap-influenced Brand New Thing cemented the band's ability as a punk act, while Ticking Bomb showcased their songwriting craft, elevating the band to new heights.
With three singles in the bag, Rock Resurrection announced the upcoming release of their self-titled debut album.
