Juan Marcos Nieves, better known as ROCKY, was born in the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico. He spent his formative years in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he navigated the complexities of childhood. Growing up in Jersey City was a mix of fun and adversity, shaping his resilience and character.

At the age of 12, he moved to Miami, Florida. It was in Miami that he first dipped his toes into the world of dance, learning how to pop and breakdance, which ignited his passion for dancing and rapping. At the age of 16, he moved back to Puerto Rico, where he became a breakdancing legend and a graffiti artist. In 1983, he started rapping on the streets, night clubs, and school parties. His first song, was "If You Talk About Me". despite his fame, he took a different path in 1988, and went to the university to study business administration, accounting and finance.

After retiring from 25 years as an executive he retired early and started writing music recording his high school songs, which has since become a passionate hobby. Rocky is one of the few artists who has recorded all his lyrics in both English and Spanish. His main genre is "hip-hop & Rap". Rocky's music has been describe as "Powerful, Captivating, & Emotional". His lyrics are stories based on his personal past struggles, and how he overcame them. He also writes about social criticism, as well about love, pain, and happiness.
